This organization is dedicated to providing direct legal representation, advice and community legal education to those who cannot afford an attorney. Nevada Legal Services (NLS) is proud to help veterans in the area.
The Veterans Project was launched six years ago in collaboration with HELP USA and its Veterans Service Project. NLS staff work collaboratively with HELP USA and the VA to provide referrals to NLS staff who can help veterans with a variety of legal issues. Before the COVID pandemic, NLS staff visited the VA regularly to provide information about their programs and projects to interested veterans. The Nevada State Bar Association supports the promotion of access to justice in Nevada by providing legal services to those in need. Nevada Legal Services serves those in need in Nevada with offices located in Las Vegas, Reno, Elko and Carson City.
Veterans Treatment CourtThe Veterans Treatment Court takes a team approach to rehabilitate veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or traumatic brain injury (TBI) who have been charged with a misdemeanor.
The Legal Aid Center, in partnership with the Nevada Attorney General's Office of Military Legal Assistance, offers free legal assistance to veterans year-round. Nevada Legal Services works directly with veterans when it comes to benefits and provides legal support and representation.
